Hi Sonicake team,
First, thank you for the V1.1.0 firmware — adding NAM support to the Matribox QME-50 was a meaningful upgrade, and the community has been making great use of it.
I'd like to formally request support for NAM Architecture 2 (A2), just announced by TONE3000 on June 2, 2026, in partnership with NAM creator Steve Atkinson.
A few reasons why this matters specifically for the QME-50:
1. A2-Lite runs natively on an ARM Cortex-M7 at 600MHz — hardware well within the QME-50's range — without lossy conversion. The current A1 implementation requires conversion that measurably degrades dynamic response and harmonic accuracy.
2. In the largest blind listening test ever conducted for amp modeling (1,000+ participants, 100,000+ ratings, MUSHRA methodology), A2 outperformed Neural DSP Capture V2, IK ToneX, and Line 6 Proxy by a wide margin.
3. A2 is fully open source. The inference engine is freely available, meaning integration cost is minimal.
HeadRush, Blackstar, Lava Music, Chaos Audio and others have already committed to native A2 support. The QME-50 has the hardware to do the same — it just needs a firmware update.
This would transform the QME-50 from a pedal that converts NAM into one that runs it natively, putting it in the same tier as hardware costing 5–10× more in terms of amp modeling accuracy. This would possibly allow the CAB slot to be activated for an IR. Sales of the Matribox 1 would explode again.
Please consider adding this to your roadmap. The community is watching — and ready.
